Will Adams, Board Certified Music Therapist, Music Instructor

Will Adams is a board-certified music therapist originally from Eureka Springs, Arkansas. His passion for music began at age 10, when he started taking guitar lessons, and he has been playing in bands and performing original music ever since. During college, Will volunteered with a program offering creative writing workshops for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. He was deeply inspired by the creativity he witnessed, which led him to pursue a career working with this population.

With over 10 years of experience, Will has worked directly with children and young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in community, residential, and educational settings. As a teaching assistant at the Rebecca School in Manhattan, he led a group for students on the Autism spectrum, encouraging them to write lyrics, create beats, and perform for their peers. Additionally, as a direct support professional at a day habilitation program for adults with developmental disabilities, he facilitated a rock band composed of staff and clients, performing concerts regularly in the community. Furthermore, at Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn, he has worked with a diverse range of clients, including adults with psychiatric diagnoses, intellectual disabilities, and stroke survivors.

Will’s approach is person-centered, resource-oriented, and humanistic, focusing on building on each individual client's unique strengths while providing ample opportunities for creative expression and exploration.
